Death Cab For Cutie Share New Songs During 'Kimmel' Mini Concert

Death Cab For Cutie are just one day away from releasing their ninth studio album, Thank You For Today, and treated fans to a mini concert on the Jimmy Kimmel Live outdoor stage Wednesday night (August 15).

The Seattle alt-rockers began their set with the upcoming album's lead single "Gold Rush" — a song about how memories can be tied to geography and the (sometimes not for the best) changes cities go through over time. Singer Ben Gibbard sported a Save Our Showbox shirt to draw awareness to helping save Seattle's beloved music venue The Showbox from being demolished in order to build luxury housing.

Watch the passionate performance below.

The band then played "Autumn Love," another Thank You For Today single, before diving into some new-new material — "Summer Years" and "Hurricane," both off the upcoming album. DCFC ended the night with the Transatlanticism hit "The Sound of Settling."

Watch them perform the latter three songs below.

Thank You For Today comes out on Friday (August 17) via Atlantic Records. Tonight (August 16), the band is celebrating with an iHeartRadio record release party where they'll be playing new material as well as fan favorites. Find out how you can stream the event here.
