The 1975 Perform 'I Like America And America Likes Me' On 'Corden': Watch

On Monday night (July 22), The 1975 visited The Late Late Show With James Corden to perform their energetic, politically charged single "I Like America & America Likes Me." Dressed in a blue jumpsuit and red hightop Converse, frontman Matty Healy broke the late night show's conventional stage layout when he ran to Corden's desk as soon as the song started. After sitting in the chair for a minute, he took things to another level and jumped on the desk while he screamed the lyrics before running back to his bandmates on stage to finish the performance together.

Watch the spirited performance below.

Though the band is still promoting its latest album A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships, Healy has been teasing its followup, Notes on a Conditional Form, for quite some time now. Last month, the singer gave fans an update on its status writing on Instagram stories: “This record is taking longer than I thought but that’s cool ... I will start putting music out in August but I really don’t know when the whole album will be out / finished."

On Tuesday (July 23) The 1975 seemingly posted its first official teaser on Instagram when they shared what looks like Notes on a Conditional Form album art with the words "WAKE UP! WAKE UP! WAKE UP!" plastered on top. They didn't include a caption with the image, but we'd like to think new music is coming sooner rather than later.
