Colorado Woman Fined $500 For Possession Of Apple

On a Delta flight from Paris to Denver, the staff handed out apples to passengers as they boarded. One passenger, Crystal Tadlock, didn't want the fruit snack right then, so she put it in her purse and forgot about it. When she landed back in the states, customs agents say she broke the rules by not declaring it, even though it was still in the Delta Packaging. Mrs. Tadlock says that the agent asked if her trip to Paris was expensive, then said "it's about to get a lot more expensive after I charge you $500." Tadlock says that Delta should've been more diligent about warning passengers not to carry the fruit off the plane, as to which Delta says that the food is given with the intention you eat it on the plane.
