Last month, a Gang Task force in North Carolina raided a house on suspected drug trafficking. After a field test, New Hanover County police boasted about the seizure of 12 pounds of Fentanyl. They said that it had a street value of $2 million, and could have given dealers hundreds of thousands of bags of the drug. After the evidence went to the state for further testing, they found out the dope they had was indeed....sugar. The fentayl charges for the three arrested have been dropped, but they still face various other narcotics charges.
