Sewport.com, a site that connects people with clothing manufacturers. She’s saved up almost $20,000 to get a replica of her late mother’s wedding dress made… with human hair.
Admitting that it’s a “strange request,” she’s looking for someone to recreate the dress her late mother wore at her wedding in 1953 as a “special memento” by August of 2019, the anniversary of her mother’s passing. Her sketch of the design shows the sleeves, trim and neckline made from her dead mother’s actual hair, which she says she started collecting ever since she learned she was ill back in 2014… Fast forward four years, she has “one large box” of the hair, so she’s looking for a “specialist” who can handle the unique request and material.“At the time I wasn’t quite sure why I was collecting it.
However, now I think I do,” she wrote. “I’d also like the bodice around the midsection of the dress to have a lacy, floral design mad with the hair.”
