In Hawaii Judge Rhonda Loo ordered 21-year-old Christopher Montilliano Jr. to not drink Pepsi while on his 4 years of probation after a car theft conviction. Montilliano lied to police when he was arrested and told officers that his cousin had allowed him to drive the car and that he was on his way to buy soft drinks. After he told the judge Pepsi was his favorite soft drink. she ordered him not to drink it. The judge said “It’s the Pepsi deprivation syndrome.” He was also sentenced to 100 hours of community service and a $100 fine. His lawyer said the man learned his lesson and Montilliano said “I’m not going to steal cars anymore,“I don’t want to be in jail no more.” He had pleaded no contest to charges of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle and driving without a license.
