Woman Released From Jail Locks Herself In Stairwell For 2.5 Days

They do things differently in St, Louis....Earlier this month a woman was released from jail, and told how to get out and be free from the St. Louis Justice Center. "Go down the hall to the elevator. Go down to the first floor, make a right. Walk out of jail, and you're free to go". That's what she was told anyway. Instead, she hit all the buttons on the elevator and ended up on the fifth floor. She then went through a fire exit, and got locked in a stairwell for 2.5 days. Even though she made noises in attempt to get somebodies attention, staff couldn't find her because she kept moving from floor to floor. Finally, somebody spotted her looking through a window, and let her out. She appeared to be ok, was given food & water, refused hospital treatment, and said she just wanted to go home.
