29-year-old Hilmary Moreno-Berrios from South Carolina demanded a womans keys before throwing a live black snake at her. Moreno-Berrios then carjacked the victims Honda CR-V and crashed the car through barricades set up for a pole-vaulting exhibition in downtown the weekend. A police officer in the area spotted the car while she was driving recklessly. Police followed, and the woman led them on a chase that ultimately ended when she struck another vehicle that was occupied by a mother and daughter. She tried to run on foot, but was caught by police. She was charged with carjacking, malicious damage to property and five traffic violations. The snake was non-venomous and was released into the woods.
