Maria Guadalupe Urena-Escamilla, 51, was arrested at around 9:40 p.m. on Saturday and is being held on $2 million bail. Burbank police said Urena-Escamilla and her husband were involved in a domestic dispute just before she allegedly lit his bed on fire. “During the dispute, the suspect made threats to kill the victim As the victim lay in bed, the suspect used a bundle of fiery paper towels which set the bed sheets and mattress on fire.” Police said the husband was able to get off the bed unharmed, then called 9-1-1. He then grabbed a fire extinguisher and put out the fire himself before it spread to the rest of the house. Police said in the statement that the couple’s child was at home during the incident, but was unharmed.
