Brutal Truths Men Have to Accept for Life Over 30

In your teens and 20s, you’re and invincible machine capable of just about anything. Then, inevitably, life catches up to you and the things that were easy suddenly become a tad more challenging. Whether it’s mental or physical, there are things you need to be prepared for so you can face them head on. Don’t hide from them…embraced them…and use them to be the best you can be. Brace yourself for these realities by the time you hit 30.

  • Nobody Owes You Anything – Don’t wait on someone to make your goals and dreams happen. Own your existence.
  • Laziness Works Against You – When you work hard…you achieve things and grow. Sleeping in is awesome…it also wastes your time and potential.
  • Inner Awesomeness – You might be one dashing mofo outwardly, but that doesn’t make you a good person. Spend as much time on your integrity and character as you do on your physical presence…maybe even more.
  • Time Is Precious – It’s the one thing you can’t replace. Make the most of it.
  • Health Is Your Greatest Asset – Take care of yourself. Hit the gym. Get regular physicals. The older you will say thanks and won’t have to play as much catch-up.
  • Embrace Failure – It’s your greatest teacher. Don’t strive for it, but don’t be embarrassed by it either. If you were always perfect, you’d never learn a damn thing.
  • Bad Things Happen – You can be the greatest person in the world, and life will still crap all over you. It’s not personal. Deal with the problem, learn from it, and move on.
  • Actions Matter – Don’t make promises you don’t plan on keeping, and back your words up with action. It’s important.
  • Perfect Timing – It doesn’t exist, and when it seems that way it’s just a coincidence. Focus instead on making better choices.
  • Money Is Nice, But… - If you’re a miserable sack of crap when you’re poor…you’ll still be one when you’re wealthier. Money is good to have, but it shouldn’t define you.
  • You’re Not Everyone’s Favorite – There are around eight billion people in this world. The vast majority don’t know you exist, and not all of the ones who do will think you’re the greatest guy ever. Stay true to yourself…the rest will handle itself.
  • Losers – They can suck you down and keep you on their level. Ditch them.
  • Death Is Inevitable – No one gets out alive. Make the most of what you have to offer while your above ground.
