A Florida man was arrested on Sunday after he pulled out an 18-inch machete at a bar after being denied a karaoke song.
Police say Travis Jordan, 39, was arrested at Kennedys Lamp Post Tavern in Cape Canaveral after pulling out an 18-inch machete when he was denied a karaoke song shortly before 2 p.m. Sunday.
According to police, a witness reported that Jordan had pulled out the machete, which had been concealed on his person, after his karaoke request was denied.
A bar staff member called law enforcement while taking possession of the weapon to prevent further harm.
When deputies arrived at the bar, Jordan was found to be unsteady on his feet and smelling strongly of alcohol, with bloodshot and glassy eyes.
Jordan reportedly admitted to having wielded the weapon, but claimed he was not in danger at the time and that he had been threatened previously and had to remain vigilant for his safety.
Jordan faces charges of disorderly conduct for Sunday's incident.
