Just when you thought it was safe to go to sleep, a man realized many peoples’ worst fear by getting bit inside his throat by a spider while sleeping. But it gets even more horrifying…the bite caused his throat to swell so badly, he couldn’t breathe. “I thought I was going to die,” confessed Chris Cowsley, a 52-year-old mailman in the UK.
After calling for an ambulance, he was referred to an ear, nose, and throat doc who checked him out with an endoscopic camera to make sure everything was okay. After Crowsley was discharged, he went to great lengths to make sure no more spiders would gain access to his home…or mouth. “I couldn’t sleep until I vacuumed the whole house and put a spider-repellant plug in the wall,” said the arachnophobe.
