You had one job: Don’t. Murder. The boss. In an epic case of mistaken identity, a shootout at a private health facility in the Mexican city of Culiacán resulted in the death of a cartel kingpin known as “El 22.” According to reports, Sinaloa Cartel gunmen loyal to Los Chapitos - the sons of infamous drug lord Joaquín 'El Chapo' Guzmán - are thought to have been at the hospital guarding another man who was receiving treatment. When an armed man walked into the clinic, the henchman opened fire on him, thinking he was coming to the facility to finish off the man they were guarding - when in fact, it was their own boss, El 22, coming to pay for the man’s surgery. As a result of the blunder, four people died on the scene, including one of the hospital’s doctors. After the smoke cleared, there was one more casualty: one of the inept gunmen, who, upon realizing their horrendous mistake, shot himself to avoid whatever punishment the cartel would have been waiting for him, requiring medical attention.
