A woman who had reached the end of her tether with her post-stealing neighbor managed to get revenge in the best way possible, and ensuring she'll never miss another package again.
Taking in a neighbor’s post when they’re out is a very nice thing to do and can help to foster harmonious relationships. However, one woman was left furious when her parcels continued to go missing, even though she knew it was being delivered next door.
Despite repeatedly asking her neighbor for the packages and telling them that she knew they had been delivered, they continued to lie and deny all knowledge of the post. Thankfully, however, karma was on hand to deliver its unique brand of revenge in the creepiest, crawliest of ways…
Sharing the story on social media, the 30-year-old woman explained that she is a hobbyist, and regularly orders additions to her collection. She wrote: “Now my entitled neighbour moved into her house roughly 3 months ago with her 9yr old son. I was close friends with the people who lived there previously and I had them listed as a trusted neighbor to deliver packages to if I'm not home.
“Since she moved in I have changed that with the post services but unfortunately there are few of the delivery people who have not had the information. Sadly I have had a few parcels delivered to the entitled neighbour and when I have gone to collect them she has denied knowledge or given me an already opened package and used the excuse that her son accidentally opened it.”
After ordering several new ‘special additions’ for her collection, she decided the best course of action would be to work from home on the day of delivery so she could ensure they would arrive safely.
Despite taking every precaution, it appeared that the package had been delivered to her neighbor, adding that her “heart sank” when she got the notification. She went on: "I left my house and went straight to my neighbor's house to knock on her door.”
Upon answering, the woman revealed her neighbor didn't look happy to see her and denied all knowledge of a package being delivered, eventually getting annoyed and swearing at her to leave them alone. The woman continued: “Before I could finish she slammed the door in my face. I was obviously annoyed and knocked on her door again and waited but she completely ignored me for at least 10 minutes.”
Frustrated, the woman went home and called the courier service in an attempt to get her property. Just as she was on hold, there was a loud banging on the front door that turned out to be the neighbor outside with her son, who was crying.
The woman revealed that her neighbor started screaming at her, yelling: “There’s a f***ing huge spider loose in my house because of you!!” She then added in the post: “Yes I collect tarantulas, true spiders and lots of other inverts.”
Relaying the conversation, she went on: “At first I was scared that she had harmed one of my new tarantulas, but I couldn't keep the sarcasm out of my voice when I made her admit that she did get my package. I closed my door and talked to the operator who had heard everything, since I had already told them what was in the package, they were laughing down the phone. I told them I'd have to go rescue my spider from the crazy Karen.”
The woman thankfully rescued her tarantula, who was unharmed, but didn’t hold back when she laid into the neighbor for stealing her property. Telling her off, the woman threatened her, saying that if she ever steals another of her packages she’ll call the police.
She finished: “Since then I've contacted every courier service in my area and demanded that they never leave anything at her address again. There has been one incident where a package from work was delivered to her but as soon as I knocked on her door she just handed me the unopened box and closed the door in my face, much to her son's disappointment if his yelling was anything to go by. Moral of the story is don't open someone else's package, it might just contain giant spiders!”
Naturally, people were loving the revenge story on Reddit and rushed to share their support. One person wrote: “I think her son needs a glitter bomb addressed to them!” And someone else shared: “Wow! This one even beats the time I wrapped up cat poop in an old Amazon box addressed to me and left it at the front door for my downstairs neighbor to steal. This is absolute GOLD! And yes, I found the box of cat shit opened on the top of our shared outdoor trash can later that day and never had another package stolen.”
