A traveling carnival worker stabbed a man with a boxcutter at Santa’s Enchanted Forest holiday theme park in Florida early Tuesday morning, according to police.
Nicholas Joe Moore, 32, of Mississippi, allegedly approached a man “in an aggressive manner” as he was waiting in line for food at the Medley park’s food court area around 12:30 a.m. and “forcibly” pushed his forearm into the victim’s neck, according to a police report obtained by WPLG.
The victim pushed Moore away and a fight broke out.
As the two wrestled to the ground, Moore pulled out a boxcutter and allegedly stabbed the man repeatedly as he cried out for help, leading some bystanders to intervene.
While the pair were tussling on the ground, Moore later told police that “a Black male brandished a gold firearm,” and “both parties disengaged,” the report says.
Moore said that he was waiting for his girlfriend in line for food when the victim approached him. He only brought out the boxcutter once the victim began to “mount” him, according to the police report.
It’s not clear what the two were arguing about.
Moore, deemed by police to be the aggressor, was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon — a second-degree felony, according to WPLG.
He is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $10,000 bond as of Tuesday afternoon, according to jail records.
