HOW TO HANDLE A JILTED EX THAT SPREADS LIES ABOUT YOU

There are few joys greater in life than the freedom that comes from getting away from a toxic ex that’s been sucking any enjoyment from your very existence. Sometimes, however, that happiness takes a while to arrive because that same toxic ex feels the need to lay out a few mushroom clouds to remind everyone how jilted they feel. In Men’s Health’s “SexPlain It” blog, “Badmouth Ex” wrote in looking for advice on how to deal with such a problem.

It seems that he broke things off with his ex not too long ago, and it’s safe to say she didn’t take it well. To retaliate, he says she’s the one that’s been going around to his friends talking about how “toxic” he is, along with twisting truths and telling flat-out lies about their sex life. Yes, it’s low to take someone’s most vulnerable and intimate moments and use them to hurt…but what can you do about it.

Zachary Zane says your best play is to fight the urge to do anything, and just let it pass. Going to the ex to try and put a stop to it will just give them ammo to tell everyone how you’re trying to “control” or “silence” them, thereby giving them more power to mess with you. Eventually, they’ll get bored and find someone else to torture because you’re not feeding their attention factory. As far as your friends, this is when you’ll find out who your friends really are. Defending yourself will only give people a reason to speculate. Stay out of the weeds and take the high road. If you lose friends, so be it…do you want someone who’d believe that crap about you in your life anyway?

No…it’s not easy…and sometimes it’ll suck, but you’re better off letting your character speak for you. You can’t control crazy…just don’t let it control you.
