A MAN was left in agony after shoving a toothbrush up his penis - which later snapped during sex.
Docs said the 43-year-old, who has not been named, was having sex with a woman who was on top when the horrifying incident happened.
When asked how the toothbrush had made its way into his penis, the unnamed Indonesian man said it was pushed up there for "sexual satisfaction".
The practice of surgically inserting objects under the foreskin, also known as genital beading, is more common in certain parts of the world, including parts of Asia.
Some decide to undergo the procedure to make their penises appear more structured and to please their partners in the bedroom.
When revealing more details of his DIY surgery, medics were told the man had been shoving brushes up his penis through a "small incision" since 2017.
They said the man had waited 12 long hours before seeking medical attention for his penis, which he said had curved, was painful and very swollen.
After an examination, doctors from the Soetomo General Academic Hospital in East Java decided he had an "eggplant deformity", a sign of a penis fracture.
They were forced to perform a two-hour op to repair his broken penis and dislodge the toothbrush.
Writing in the International Journal of Surgery Case Reports, they said: "The patient sustained a penile injury during sexual intercourse in the woman-on-top position the night before."
