The next entry into the world of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” will reportedly be an R-rated affair. The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that a live-action TMNT project is currently in development, and it’ll be adapted from the comic miniseries “The Last Ronin.” The grittier “heroes in a half shell” story will reportedly be an adaptation of the 2020 IDW comic series “set in an alternate future where Michaelangelo is the last-standing member of the team, vowing to finish his brothers’ legacy of dismantling Shredder’s legacy once and for all.” The script is reportedly going into development.
