Caitlin Clark certainly isn’t getting the “star treatment” in the WNBA.
The Indiana Fever rookie got rocked while walking into a screen during the first quarter of her team’s game against the New York Liberty at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. on Saturday. Clark was looking to defend Courtney Vandersloot and ended up walking right into a firm screen from Breanna Stewart.
That was brutal. She never saw it coming.
In instances like that, it’s common for teammates to send a verbal warning about a screen coming to prepare the player. If that happened, Clark didn’t appear to hear it.
This was the second straight game for the Fever against the Liberty. New York won both games, including Saturday’s contest 91-80. Clark scored 22 points to lead her 0-3 Fever.
