This Common Sex Position Is Officially the Most Dangerous

When it comes to sex, there are already a few dangers we can encounter from sexually transmitted illnesses to little embarrassments among the intimacy.

However, injuries are also something to consider. If you’re having penis-in-vagina sex, there are some positions that are more likely to cause injuries than others.

Penile fractures are not that common, but sex can also lead to a tear in the frenulum or the tunica albuginea.

According to one of TikTok’s most popular doctors, Dr Karan Rajan, an NHS Surgeon, these injuries are most likely to occur during reverse cowgirl.

The reverse cowgirl position is very popular, and while it can take some practice, the angle of entry allows for deep penetration and may stimulate the G-spot for partners with vaginas who are on top.

The position is the same as cowgirl, but the partner on top faces backwards, with the partner on the bottom lying down with a view of their lover's back.

The partner in the topward position can then lead the encounter by moving by driving themselves using their knees if in a kneeling position, or feet if in a squatting position.

There can be lots of power in this motion, and it allows the top partner to position themselves in the way that feels best for them.

"This is the most dangerous sex position according to science and it's the cause of 50 percent of penile fractures,” explains Dr Rajan in the video.

“This is a rubbery sheath of tissue that allows the penis to enlarge during an erection,” says Dr Rajan, in the video which was initially published in 2021, but has recently been recirculating.

For those who want to try the position or are already fans, these kinds of injuries are not common, but go slowly, be mindful of your partner and be careful of 'slip outs' which is where injuries may occur.
