Anniversary re-releases of big albums are nothing new, but it’s rare that you see one like Weezer’s 30th Anniversary reissue of “The Blue Album.” The band is hitting the road with the Flaming Lips and Dinosaur Jr., and that’s going to build up to the November 1st re-release of the album, which will include a stunning 36 additional unreleased tracks. The Super Deluxe Edition will be spread out across four 12-inch LPs, a 10-inch EP, and a 7-inch single, including eight “Kitchen Tape Demos,” 22 early practice sessions and live recordings, and more. New liner notes from band historian Karl Koch, unreleased photos of the band, and new graphics and lithographs are all going to make this in demand as soon as it hits stores.
