Fifth Grader Punished For Calling Teacher “Ma’am”

Teretha Wilson and McArthur Bryant of Tarboro, North Carolina say they were shocked to learn that their 10-year-old son Tamarion was punished for calling his fifth-grade teacher “ma’am.” She made him write the word over and over on a sheet of paper to bring home for his parents to sign. She also said she wanted to "throw something at him." Thing is, when Wilson met with the teacher, she claimed that she wasn’t serious about that. The good news? Tamarion is in a different class. The bad news? The unnamed teacher is still teaching.
