Doctor discovers 100 bubble tea pearls in girl’s abdomen

A 14-year-old girl from the Zhejiang province in China was hospitalized after being constipated for 5 days, lacked an appetite and had stomach aches. Doctors gave her a CT scan and discovered she had over 100 tapioca “pearls” often found at the bottom of bubble tea drinks. At first the girl was hesitant to talk about her bubble tea habits, but she eventually told doctors she had one cup of tea before coming to the hospital. Doctors said it would take far more than that, but sent her home with laxatives.Another doctor said the tapioca pearls in bubble tea can be difficult for the body to digest because they are made out of starch.
