One Texas school is under fire for organizing a day where girls were encouraged to "obey" boys' demands. The "Rules of Chivalry Day" assignment at Shallowater High School in Lubbock was apparently meant to demonstrate medieval notions of chivalry and courtly love. Female students were asked to curtsy, lower their heads to men, not whine or complain, and not show any type of offensive intellectual superiority. Male students were also given advisories, mostly to act more dignified and noble. After online backlash, the school canceled the event outright, saying it did not align with "district and community values."
