Former Girls Coach Sentenced To 10 Years In Prison For Sexually Assault

A former girls basketball coach on Maui, Hawaii has been sentenced to a decade behind bars for sexually assaulting two former players. Jonathan Furtado, who coached a club team at Seabury Hall, was sentenced Friday. He was originally charged with 18 counts, but took a plea deal and pleaded no contest to two counts of second-degree sexual assault. Furtado has also been ordered to register as a sex offender and get mental health treatment.
