Barrett-Jackson certified the winning bid at the conclusion of their Houston Auction. The 1979 Porsche 928 holds an “immaculate and factory-original” value of $79,500, but the cinematic history clearly gave it a boost. Ten years ago, this exact car went for $49,200 at auction. Why the $1.5 million increase? No one knows for sure.
