Dog Pee Causes Light Pole To Snap

The average lifespan of a light pole is about 50 years....unless it gets pissed on constantly. In Japan a light pole that was installed in 1997 was found toppled over in some bushes but nobody really knew how it happened to break. After months of forensic studies, scientists detected 40 times more urea at the bottom of the pole when compared to other poles in the area. The 21 foot traffic light was installed along a path that's popular among dog walkers, so they came to the conclusion that the combination of urea and sodium found in dog piss caused the pole to erode quicker than usual. Officials are now encouraging dog owners to let their dogs piss elsewhere to prevent this from happening again. Even though a new pole has been erected in its place, dogs are already marking their territory on the new pole. Not the first time dog piss caused a pole to come down. IN 2016 an iron pole collapsed crushing a 10 year old girl's hand. Government investigations found that dog piss was to blame for that as well.
