On December 1st, an elderly woman was rudely awaken by four people in clown masks when they broke into her home. According to reports, one of them was armed with aa sledgehammer and took the woman's phone so she couldn't call for help. Another one of the suspects just patted the woman on the back telling her everything was going to be ok. They then tried to bust into a safe with the sledge but were unsuccessful and ended up just taking the safe that held some $40k worth of family heirlooms and jewelry. Come to find out, one of the robbers was the woman's late husband's caretaker. Two of the robbers pawned the items the next day, and with the help of security footage from the neighborhood, one of the robber's phones, and documents from the pawn shop, deputies were able to pin the suspects. All four were arrested and face charges of home invasion robbery and grand theft. The two who pawned the items are looking at additional charges of dealing in stolen property and false verification of ownership.
