According to the news source Folha De S.Paulo Leandro Mathias de Novaes had accompanied his mother to a facility in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on January 16, and took a revolver into the room, carrying it in his waistband. The gun discharged as the MRI machine was turned on, and he died weeks later. The attorney and his mother were instructed to take any metal items out of their possession before entering the room due to the machine's strong magnetic field, according to officials. According to facility officials, they were unaware that de Novaes had brought the rifle into the room. De Novaes' gun was dragged from his waistline by the magnetic force of the machine when it was turned on, and when it fired, the bullet hit him in the belly. De Novaes promoted gun ownership and urged users to buy and amass firearms on TikTok and Instagram. De Novaes was shot and transferred to a hospital, where he passed away last week as a result of his wounds.
