Authorities in Texas are investigating the mysterious deaths of a half-dozen cattle that were found with their tongues cut out. Ranchers in Madison County, 100 miles north of Houston, said they found the mutilated remains of a six-year-old longhorn cross cow last week with the tongue cleanly cut and removed. The Madison County Sheriff's Office said it learned about five similar cases in neighboring Brazos and Robertson counties. There were no signs of struggle, footprints, or tire tracks and grass around the carcasses wasn't disturbed.
