Judge Faces Punishment For Scrolling Facebook During Murder Hearing

We all get bored at work sometimes. An Oklahoma district judge in Lincoln County was in the middle of hearing a trial of a man accused of beating his then girlfriend's 2 year old boy to death. According to reports, Judge Traci Soderstrom, a newly elected judge on her first case, was spotted on the courtroom security camera behind her scrolling through her phone. She told the jury to make sure all electronic devices were shut off so they could concentrate on the evidence without interruption. Footage from the camera behind the bench shows her scrolling through Facebook, repeatedly checking her phone, even searching for and sending a GIF. She was even caught checking her phone while the mother of the victim gave a tearful testimony.
