A St. Louis man is in trouble for taking a while to do the right thing. According to reports, 48 year old David Thompson was at his apartment with a new found friend named Glenn Williams when Glenn suffered a fatal fentanyl overdose. David being scared of a pending case and afraid of what his landlord would say, wrapped up the body in a layer of plastic, then wrapped it in saran wrap, and again in two rugs all held together with rope. He then waited 5 days to dispose of the body where he dragged it to a nearby parking pad. Later he called 9-1-1 to report a suspicious rug. Police came out to investigate and that's when they noticed a few things. The investigating officer noticed a trail of carpet fibers leading from the body right to Dave's apartment. He then found some shoes that had carpet fiber stuck in the tread, and an outline of what was a carpet in the basement of his apartment. Dave first denied anything but eventually admitted he new the man and why he wrapped up and dumped the body. Now Dave's looking at doing time for felony abandonment of a corpse, which can get him 4 years in prison.
