While trying to enjoy dinner out with his wife, a Florida man sneezed so hard that some of his intestines came out of his body. The unnamed man had been undergoing treatments for a “post-cancer recurrence” in which his urinary bladder was removed…leaving him a healing surgical wound on his abdomen. Doctors reported that the wound was healing well and that the staples holding the wound together could be removed. The meal he was enjoying with his wife was a breakfast to celebrate the news. Then, the sneeze came…which was followed by a “wet sensation and a pain in his lower abdomen, and, when looking down, “several loops of pink bowel protruding from his recent surgical site.” An ambulance was called, and emergency care was provided at a nearby hospital. Fortunately, there was no damage beyond the opened incision point.
