An Illinois man is going to prison after being convicted of counterfeiting money for a second time. Jacob Kirkley was sentenced to five and a half years in federal prison after a jury found him guilty of counterfeiting U.S. currency and selling and possessing counterfeit currency in December. Prosecutors say Kirkley sold an undercover officer with the Illinois State Police thousands of dollars in counterfeited U.S. currency multiple times. He was previously convicted of counterfeiting in 2022 and sentenced to twenty-seven months in federal prison.
