You've been trying to lose weight, but can't beat that stall in your progress. It's kind of like a good BBQ. It get's to 150 degrees and then it sits there for a long time. Have you ever thought about NOT being so good and cheating on your diet?
Researchers at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign have found that giving in to your cravings could help with weight loss in the long run.
If you indulge in their cravings you may be better than those who try to resist completely.
Researchers talked to 30 adults in a weight loss program over the course of 24 months. Those who incorporated small amounts of their favorite foods lost more weight and reduced their cravings more effectively than those who tried to cut those foods out completely. This suggests that moderation, not elimination, could help with sustainable weight loss.
So having trouble getting over that hump? Cheat on the diet. You might be surprised at the results.
