Summer is no longer just a season, it's a vibe. Well at least according to 3 in 4 Gen Z and millennial women. They are changing up their summers by creating a summer "persona." They blame their alter ego, and even give them a name to explain bad actions or even a group catch phrase.
My wife and her friends have been guilty of this for years. Serve them a little too much, and out comes "(your drunk name here)."
So is this the norm? Are you meeting the real person on the fake them?
So who are the sun soaked people showing up on our feeds and in our friend groups? I found the top 3 Summer alter egos that you've been seeing EVERYWHERE!!
3. “Party Portia”
Portia is the queen of all pool parties because she knows three DJs and they're all her "Friend" and can go from day drinking to a boat ride to a club all in one outfit. Her group chat stays active sharing all of everyone's business, her speaker stays loud, and her stories stay chaotic.
We all know the "Party Portia" and we met her, she's fun, but sometimes a bit much.
2. “Soft Life Sienna”
This is your chill friend. She’s all about slow mornings, iced coffee, and hydrating (with whatever she can get her hands on). Sienna swapped hot girl summer for healed girl summer. She’s journaling, and taking SPF over sunburns, and ghosting her toxic ex and any bad energy. She's your business buddy who is a good ear to listen to you.
1. “Spontaneous Serena”
This is the friend you need to watch out for. She can get you into anything. She books flights at midnight, wears her closet like armor, and always has a festival wristband from last weekend still on. Serena thrives on last minute plans, rooftop margs, and shouting “I do what I want!” like it’s still 2013—but somehow, she pulls it off.
You don't have to use these names. But, I'll bet money we all know these people in our friend groups. Easy to find and ready to do things their own way. Nothing wrong with that. Just remember where you live.
