If you have vacation plans coming up, a business trip, or whatever. If you have a short flight and are traveling with Delta, you may not be getting your drink and snack.
Delta Air Lines will cut complimentary snacks and beverage service on flights under 350 miles beginning May 19th, affecting approximately 450 daily flights, which means no free refreshments in standard cabins.
A Delta rep said changes aim to "create a more consistent experience across our network" while crews remain "visible, available, and focused on caring for our customers."
This is nothing new for Delta, they've had an existing policy of no food or drinks on flights under 250 miles since 2015, with reduced "express service" under 349 miles since 2017.
Industry practices vary: American Airlines and Southwest typically serve snacks and drinks on flights over 250 miles, while United often limits service under 300 miles.
So you may need to grab the expensive airport food and not depending on whatever pretzel snack they give you now on your flight to get you by.
