Nikki Sixx's SIXX:A.M. Unites Rock and Country Stars For An Important Cause

With National Recovery Month coming up in September, Nikki Sixx's SIXX:A.M. is uniting rock and country stars as part of Artists for Recovery and released their mega-collaboration "Maybe It's Time."

"Maybe It's Time" features Corey Taylor, Def Leppard's Joe Elliott, Brantley Gilbert, Five Finger Death Punch's Ivan Moody, Slash, AWOLNATION and Bad Wolves' Tommy Vext. The emotional song is part of an initiative to bring attention to the opioid crisis and raise funds to help in recovery. The chorus includes the heartfelt lyrics, "But maybe it's time to heal/ Maybe it's time to try/ Maybe it's time to deal/ With all the pieces in my life/ Maybe I'll sober up/ Maybe before I die/ Maybe I'll finally deal/ With all the wreckage in my life."

The collaboration was put together by Nikki Sixx, who is a recovery spokesperson and advocate, and in a statement explained of the song and larger campaign, "I am proud to bring together these artists to help raise funds for the Global Recovery Initiative Foundation. The opioid epidemic did not go away when the pandemic came along. Just the opposite...those in early recovery became even more at risk than before so it's more important now than ever to raise awareness and support them. I really believe that united we can make a difference and save lives."

The industry-wide campaign, supported by many major entertainment companies including Live Nation, Ticketmaster, iHeartRadio and many others, hopes to shine the light on the important message of hope for recovery beginning on International Overdose Awareness day on 8/31 and will continue through International Recovery Day on 9/30.

Proceeds from "Maybe It's Time" are being donated to The Global Recovery Initiatives Foundation, which supports those in early recovery, in addition to a matching contribution from Better Noise Music.

The song is also featured in the soundtrack for the upcoming film SNO BABIES, which will be released via video on demand on September 29th.
