A 15 year old boy who has down syndrome has been denied his chance to become an Eagle Scout opportunity from The Boy Scouts of America and voided all of his badges. Now his dad is suing. Depsite Logan Blythe, local Boy Scout officials told his parents that everything would be fine and he would be able to become an Eagle Scout. Logan had planned on making kits for babies that are born with special needs. The family submitted everything to become an Eagle Scout, Local officials approved it, then the national organization declined his submission and canceled all his badges. The national organization said that he has not met the obligation required to be an Eagle Scout. Local officials say that he " literally did the best he could, and our local leaders accepted it and were happy with it.” Nationally they say no. The family is suing for discrimination and is suing for $1 and for him and his badges to be reinstated and allowed to become an Eagle Scout.
