Fights over Cafeteria tables, turns at karaoke. Dances turn out to be about cruelty and breeding grounds for gossip. A recent study says that Nursing Homes are just like any other community and subject to the same cliques, gossip and unfortunately bullying. We aren't talking physical bullying, but name calling, gossip, and exclusion. In one instance a woman was spit on, yelled at, told he would burn in hell. He scooter was attacked by a walker, a woman in a wheelchair rammed the table she was sitting at and knocked it over, all because she was a lesbian. The woman said this was nothing new, she dropped out of High School because of bullying due to her sexuality. Now she barricades herself in her room.
