In Tempe, police are on the lookout for a man that failed to show for court after getting a DUI on a BIRD scooter. Last year, Shelton Begay was arrested for DUI, reckless driving, criminal damage, among other crimes after blowing a .285 when he crashed his rented scooter into the side of a car at 9 in the morning. Since the scooter can get up to 35 MPH, the police recognize it as a motor vehicle, therefore causing the DUI.
