Family members, who asked to not be identified, told a news station in in the Bay Area they chose to remember a loved one by throwing $500 in $20 onto several lanes of Interstate 880 in Hayward. They threw out the money on the way back from a funeral. Several cars stopped to pick up the dough. One family said it was just a way to honor the man that passed away and that It's an "Oakland thing." A CHP Officer said there were multiple calls about the money, but when officers arrived on scene, the money was gone.
