Monday a teenager was playing on a court near Arena Park in Cape Girardeau when she stepped on a knife. Investigators say they were at least two "flimsy kitchen paring knives" were eventually found in the sand. Julia Jones the director for the city's parks and recreation department called the incident is "incredibly sick," and that its the first time this has happened. Jones said city parks staff will be checking the volleyball courts with metal detectors and rakes. The courts are set to be closed until next week.
