A woman who filmed a pervert pleasuring himself on a train has slammed the French justice system which could see her punished more harshly than him.
Natacha Bras, who happens to be the vice president of a group that provides support to sexual assault victims, was herself targeted on board a train from Paris to the western city of Poitiers recently. She took out her phone and filmed the encounter with the passenger who she claimed had moved seats just to be closer to her.
She said the man looked at her while performing the lewd act for about an hour-and-a-quarter.
The problem is she posted the video online and you can clearly see the perpetrator. That is a big no-no with privacy laws in France. In fact, under French law. this carries a maximum punishment of a jail term and $50,000 fine.
Natacha points out that the man would only face a year in prison and $17,000 fine if convicted.
People are pointing out the hypocrisy of the law on social media where her initial 20-second video has been viewed more than 117,000 times, with stories going viral in France.
