Indiana Police say a woman has confessed to savagely abusing her friend's infant daughter. Officers began to investigate 20-year-old Amber Vannatter after the child was brought to a hospital. Vannatter was watching the baby while her mother was at work. Hospital staff reported that the girl had a broken wrist, friction burns to her torso and face and burns caused by a cigarette lighter. The woman reportedly admitted to harming the child, saying she held the girl's face to a moving treadmill and pushed a lighter against her because she wouldn't stop crying. Vannatter now faces charges of battery and neglect of a dependent.
