Ammo & Badges From Mississippi PD Found During Florida Traffic Stop

Earlier this week, a license plate reader in Florida got a hit on a trailer that had been stolen so the Real Time Crime Center was immediately activated to locate the truck the was towing it. Deputies conducted a traffic stop at a local convenience store and when they searched the vehicle, they found some odd things. Inside they found 35 year old Joseph Mixon in possession of a loaded gun that was in his pocket, a back pack that had a large amount of counterfeit cash, brass knuckles, and two clown masks. Also in the vehicle, they found law enforcement equipment including ammunition, badges, a helmet, a Mississippi State Police Dept. ID card and a Pearl River Sheriff's Office key card. When authorities contacted the Mississippi State Police, they said that Joey had been terminated and asked to keep the equipment safe. The stolen trailer was returned to the owner and Joey is looking at charges of grand theft of a motor vehicle, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of forged bills.
