Mom Thought Baby Was Kidney Stone

One Massachusetts woman got a surprise when she had her first baby in the toilet. USA Today reports that Melissa Surgecoff, of Boston, missed her period for five months but didn't suspect anything due to her history of irregular menstrual cycles. However, Surgecoff began to experience worsening cramps one day in early March. Thinking she was in pain from a kidney stone and that leaking blood was her period, she sat on the toilet for relief. But, the woman felt something pass from her body and then realized it was a baby. Her husband cleaned their first child up before it was taken to the hospital by EMTs. Surgecoff now says she is delighted to have her son, Liam, but looking back, she should have seen some other obvious signs like weight gain and swollen feet.
