In southern California a man only known as Steve spotted a rattlesnake near his home this past Saturday. Worried about it coming into contact with kids, Steve decided he needed to remove the snake. When Steve tried using a pair of bbq tongs to remove the reptile, the rattlesnake turned and bit him right on the hand. Animal control ended coming out and taking care of the snake while Steve went to the hospital. Steve got the antivenom and will be fine. As for the snake...animal control usually takes them and releases them about a mile away from where they were found, but this one ended up getting euthanized
