Woman Allegedly Tried Abducting Infant Using Bear Spray

Authorities in Canada say they have arrested a woman for trying to kidnap an eight-day-old infant. Nicole Shanks is said to have invaded the Ottawa home of a woman she had met on Facebook and sprayed everyone inside with bear spray. Shanks is then said to have taken the baby and ran off before witnesses detained her. Police arrested the woman, and she was charged with abduction, assault, and weapon possession among others. The baby's mother wrote that Shanks gained her address by pretending she had won a prize through Facebook.
