Man Develops Way To Protect Birthday Cakes From Saliva

A Virginia man is sharing his invention that stops saliva from getting on birthday cakes. Mark Apelt told The Daily Progress newspaper before the pandemic he watched a kid spit all over their birthday cake as they were trying to blow out the candles. His invention, called the Blowzee, allows people to still feel like they are blowing out the candles, except clean air from a fan is actually what extinguishes the flames. Apelt says he was shocked there wasn't already a device like it on the market.
